Our Motto: Sell or Die!
Realizing that some of our clients were missing their sales goals as they gave equal focus to many other less critical goals, we first coined the phrase as a Wake Up Call to the simple truth that if you miss your sales goals, nothing else may matter! Thus we have used SELL or DIE! as a rallying cry to help some of our clients attain this same focus and start to recover from even the direst of situations.

Who are we?

Founded in 1986 by Peter Michie, a former VP Sales of $100+ million computer company who provided the leadership to double the rate of sales inside 4 months, we started out with only 2 offerings:
- Sales & Sales Management Consulting
- The early versions of our world class development Program, For Sales Managers Only.

These were based on Peter's experience as a Sales Manager and VP Sales, where he was instrumental in turning around 3 disaster situations, as a result of which he concluded, "There is no such thing as a sales problem; only sales management problems."

From these early days, PERFORMAX has evolved into a non traditional* firm of Sales & Marketing Consultants specializing in change management for Sales and Marketing Organizations who need to change to address the rapid changes in their markets, their customer sets, their product cycles, and the resulting selling models. Our well developed SOS (Sales Operating System) provides a proven vehicle to implement and sustain the changes needed.

Mike Cox was a former customer of PERFORMAX who recognized how the power of PERFORMAX Programs could help him as a VP Sales of a software company. He is based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada where he brings another level of experience and professionalism.

Brenda Erickson's career in high tech management includes her role as CEO of SAS Institute in Canada, who was a PERFORMAX Customer. Brenda is based just outside of Washington, DC.

And sorry that he turns up everywhere, but our Founder, Peter Michie is still very active, after helping facilitate some 25+ sales disaster turnarounds.

*We use the term non traditional as most Sales & Marketing Consultants specialize in point solutions (eg: Sales Training, CRMs etc). Although PERFORMAX can deliver point solutions too, based on the VP level experience of our principals, we take the Big Picture View of all the issues that can impact Sales Effectiveness and your Company's Business Plan, and then implement a Program to address the critical items in partnership with our Clients.

Thus our Programs may involve any combination of Strategies, Processes, Tools, Skills, Attitudes & Philosophies, all aimed at increased Success! The improved results from this approach & methodology are a matter of record.
